“My Companions are like the stars, you will follow their guidance"

Is the hadith saheeh? Many La Mazhabi brothers can be heard saying that the hadith is weak. Again, many ulama 'say that there are many authentic hadiths in favor of the hadith. I would be grateful if you could give details about it.

Answer: -

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

On the authority of Ibn Umar, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Like the Companions, like the stars,

Narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Omar. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: My Companions are like a star that guides, so whatever you say, you will be guided. Musnad Abd bin Humaid, Hadith No. 63, Musnadush Shihab, Hadith No. 1348, Jameul Ahadis, Hadith No. 24355.

Muhaddithin have a lot to say about this hadith. In many muhaddithin, Keram has commented that it is not saheeh, but fake, munkar, garib, batil, etc.

Some have also commented that it has more evidence. As mentioned above, the comments of some muhaddithin have been mentioned.

Since there is a difference of opinion among the muhaddithin about the hadith. So it should not be hastily called fake.

And Allah knows best
