What is shirk?







1. The biggest crime in the world is "shirk". [Bukhari H / 6919]




2. O Messenger, if you also do shirk, then all your deeds will be wasted. And you will be among the losers. [Fri-65]




3. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever associates anything with Allaah will go to Hell. [Mishkat H / 36]




4. Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him. He forgives sins other than shirk to whomever He wills. [Nisa-47]




ির Shirk prevalent in the society:




1. In invisible danger, it is shirk to seek help from anyone other than Allah, saints, imams, dead people and even the Prophet. To show respect to these people, it is shirk to pray in front of their graves, to prostrate or to kiss their graves. [Anfal-9, Araf-194, Nahl-21, Fatiha-5, Al-Ahqaf-5, Yunus-108, Tirmidhi H / 2517] It is also shirk to believe that Pulsirat will pass. [Jumar-44, Bakara-255, Namal-72, Hajj-63, Fatir-13]




2. "I rely on you, I was saved today because you were there, the boat did not sink because the boatman was good, the accident did not happen because the driver was good, who will help but you, the boy / girl died prematurely, his death is unacceptable, It is shirk to say such a thing because to rely on someone other than Allah or to think that life and death are in the hands of someone else, to think that one can be good on one's own without the will of Allah. 3. It is shirk to believe that God is formless. [Sawad-65, Taha-39, Maeda-64, Kalom-42, Bakara-115, R Rahman 26-28, Bukhari H / 4919, Mishkat H / 5542]




4. It is shirk to believe that Allah is in the hearts of all believers, in all places, in all things, on the right shoulder of man. Because God is exalted above the Throne. [Mulk 17-18, Taha-5]




5. Anyone other than Allah (such as fortune tellers, saints, different fathers) can tell fortunes by looking at hands, know the unseen or invisible, move hands or bowls, tell good or bad by determining planets, satellites or horoscopes, or know and tell the future, etc. Shirk. It is even shirk to make such prophetic remarks as "You have sorrow in your forehead, my Saturn phase is going on, your future is dark". [Yunus 61, Surah Naml-65, Baqara-102, Taha-69, Araf 17, Zvin-25-26, An'am-59, Baqara-33, Muslim H / 2230, Abu Dawood H / 3904, Musnad Ahmad]




. It is shirk to ask for prayers from any person, saint or prophet. [Araf-194]




. It is shirk to swear in the name of any person or thing other than Allah. For example: swearing in the name of mosque, Quran, head, eyes, rice, parents etc. [Abu Daud H / 3251, Tirmidhi H / 1535, Fathul Bari; 11/530 p., Musnad Ahmad]




. It is shirk to use gold, silver, copper, stones, amulets (amulets), amulets, bracelets, threads, etc. to get rid of any kind of ailment, neglect, arthritis etc. [Anam-17, Musnad Ahmad; 4/16, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, Hakeem]




9. It is shirk to bow one's head and salute one's hands and feet in order to show extra respect to a person. [Kachidat Buruda p. 34]




10. It is shirk to offer flowers or anything for the purpose of any deity, idol, sculpture, shrine, monument, etc. other than Allah. And it is shirk to arrange various things to show respect to them. For example: to observe silence. [Musnad Ahmad; কিতাবুয় যুহদ]




11. It is shirk to think that any law is better than the law or command given by Allah. [Nisa 105, Anam 62, Maida-47]




12. Calling Allah by the name of God, Maula, is totally called shirk by any name other than the adjective given by Allah. [Araf-160, Isra-110]




13. It is shirk to celebrate or give special importance to all the days / times / moments which are not given any importance in the Quran and Hadith. For example, it is shirk to celebrate birthdays, Independence Day, Mourning Day, Pahela Baishakh, etc., because it has no basis in Islam. [Abu Dawood H / 4031, Nasai H / 1556, Abu Dawood H / 1134]




14. Whoever leaves the prayer will do shirk. [Ibn Majah H / 1080]




15. To associate another person with Allah. For example, I seek refuge in Allah and you, I have no one but Allah and you, it is from Allah and from you, Allah in the heavens and I have no one but you in the earth, etc. It is direct shirk. It is also shirk to utter the words Babago, Mama, Ya Ali, Ya Rasool, Ya Khwaja, Ya Baba, etc. while standing up after sitting for a long time. Because in every moment, in happiness and sorrow, in danger, in all circumstances, Allah must be remembered. No one else can be called. [Nasai H / 98, Fathul Bari; 11/530, Bukhari H / 63, Musnad Ahmad]

It is shirk to believe in any kind of bad omen, to consider any person or place as kufa.


Believing that if you don't sell cash in the morning, business will go bad all day,


Incense burning in the evening in the hope of the welfare of the shop,


- To think that it is bad to wear a black cat in front of the road,


Do not call evil from behind,


- To think it bad to cut one's nails at night,


It is shirk to think that it is bad to stumble upon something while going out.


 It is shirk to consider it bad to set foot on jhata, kula, paddy, daripalla, rice husk, etc., or to salute them,


To think that the house cannot be swept during Azan,


Calling crows, owls, cook birds on the house a bad omen,


 If there are clothes outside in the evening, the jinn / petnis urinate on the clothes,


To think that no fruit can be left on the tree at night or to lend anything,


Believing that angels do not come when food leftovers and water are thrown out of the house,


 To think of the cause of danger if the evening lamp is not lit.


If you have sesame seeds in your hand, cooking is good, if you have sesame seeds in your throat, you can kill it.


 Money comes from scratching the right hand and money is spent by scratching the left hand.


If you call a house bird, if it matches with someone's words, if you put a comb in your hand, the guest will come to have an idea,


- To think it is inauspicious to go after something out of hand,


 To think that sudden closing of the left eye will bring grief or danger,


No men sweat and have hair on their chests as a sign of love for their wives,


If you get a punch in the head, if you don't get a second punch, you will get horns on your head.


 To think that you have to hold the cat's foot if it is cut in the neck,


To formally accept the bride and groom in marriage or in circumcision with kula / grass / fire / yellow / soap etc.,


To think that you can learn to swim by playing ant / porabhat,  to think that if you take the name of a pig in your mouth, your face stays unclean for 40 days,


To think that taking rice once on a rice plate is a bad omen, to sneeze and cough at the throat of food


 To think that if he is present when someone is present, he will live a long life or his life will increase.


If the eyes are full or itchy, it is better to think of touching the private parts of small children,


If you call a frog, it will rain / If you call a lizard, you will think it is true,


 To imagine the marriage of a fox when rain and sun are together,


After the teeth of small children are worn, they put those teeth in the rat hole and ask the rat for a tooth as thin as a rat.


Giving a black tip to the forehead of children for fear of being noticed or harmed


Those twins are considered to be twins when they eat bananas.


To consider the use of broken mirror / broken comb / broken glass or plate as inauspicious,


◾taking scissors-knife or stabbing a person as a crime or harm,


To consider it unlucky not to pay the odd amount of money at the time of marriage, for example: one lakh and one rupees. Shoes, sandals hanging on the back of the car to avoid accidents.
