What deeds did the Prophet (peace be upon him) do before going to sleep?

        The deeds that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to do before going to sleep




1- After reciting Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq and Surah Nas with the palms of both hands together, blow on it: Then massage as many parts of the body as possible with the palms of both hands. The month will start from the front of his head, face and body.




(Do this 3
times.) (Bukhari-5017)




2- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever recites the Ayatollah Kursi while sleeping, Shaytaan will not approach him all night long. (Bukhari-2311)




3- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah (the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) at night, it will be enough for him. (Bukhari - 4008




4- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: It is beneficial to recite shirk at night (qul ya aayyu hal ka-firun) (meaning Surah ka-firun). (Sahih Targib-602)




5- Once the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to his companions, "Will any of you be unable to read one third of the Qur'an in one night?" This made everyone think the matter was heavy. He said, "Who among us can do this, O Messenger of Allah ?!" He said that Surah Ikhlas is one third of the Qur'an. (Bukhari - 5015)




6- "When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) wished to sleep, he would place his right hand under his cheek, then recite this Doa."


ّ اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا


(Allahumma bismika amutu wa ahiya).


“O Allah! With your name I am dying (sleeping) and with your name I will be alive (awake). (Bukhari-6324)




6- The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Ali and Fatima (peace be upon him): Shall I not tell you something that will be better for you than a servant? When you go to bed, say 33 times Subhanallah, 33 times Alhamdulillah, and 34 times Allah-hu Akbar, it will be better for you than the servant. (Bukhari - 3605)




6- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites the Tabar al-Qalazi Biyadihil Mulk (Surah) every night, may Allah protect him from the torment of the grave.”




9- Bara Ibn Azeeb (R) said that when the Prophet (SAW) went to bed, he used to lie on the right side. Then he would say-


«اللهم أسلمت نفسي إليك, وفوضت أمري إليك, ووجهت وجهي إليك, وألجأت ظهري إليك, رغبة ورهبة إليك, لا ملجأ ولا منجا منك إلا إليك, آمنت بكتابك الذي أنزلت, وبنبيك الذي أرسلت».


(Allah-Humma Aslamatu Nafsi Ilaik, Wa Fawwadbtu Amri Ilaik, Wa Wajjahtu Wazhiya Ilaik, Waalja'tu Zahri Ilaik, Ragbatan Wa Rahbatan Ilaik, La Malja'a Walaatla.




“O Allah! I surrender myself to you. I have entrusted all my affairs to you, I have turned my face towards you, and I have entrusted my surface to you; Becoming a fan of you and being afraid of you. There is no refuge and no way of escape from you (catch) except you alone. I believe in what you have sent down, and in what you have sent down.


The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If a person recites this supplication and then dies at night, he will die on Islam. (Bukhari-6313)
